

Star Trek Online is an online (funny that) computer game launched in 2010. The former on TNG’s beloved television finale ‘All Good Things’ and, according to author Paul Cornell, his Doctor Who book ‘Human Nature’ (1994) and its Hugo nominated television adaptation (2007). That reality is wiped out by the book itself, but while the story and its ship are not canonical (following the time-honoured tradition that no Star Trek that isn’t film or television is canonical), both have an influence. In that reality, Commodore Data is the captain of the USS Enterprise-F, two ships along from the TNG one, and it and its captain are hornswoggled by Riker into his plan to use the Guardian of Forever to change history. He’s an angry old man, embittered by the long ago death of his one true love Deanna Troi.

One title, 'Imzadi', concerns an aged Admiral William Riker, living even further in Star Trek’s future than the series was then set.
